Fokus-Pfadfinder im Umbruch und im Schweden-Stil

Moin zusammen,

Nico Lindner

Instacanvas: 5 important steps before opening your gallery

Moin,

Your Instanv.as control desk - take care of the content you publish. Take care of your reputation.

a few weeks ago I wrote a German blog post related to what I did before opening my Instacanv.as gallery. As most of the Instacanv.as artists do speak English, I decided to translate it.

Main point: The way I optimized my Instacanv.as gallery before opening it to the public. In my opinion, you've got to keep an eye on what you are doing from the beginning on. First, it might not take effect. On the long run I'm sure it will.

I took care of the following steps:

  • First, I transfered every little photo of my Instagram gallery to my Instacanv.as pool. After finishing that, I returned pictures not sharp enough and appearing fuzzy at the monitor of my laptop. Don't make a pic by pic online transfer or not transfer marathon. Copy everything, delete afterwards.
  • Check your profile entry at Instacanv.as. Which description do you offer to your customers? In my eyes, a good profile picture and some hearty and honest sentences do fit the best
  • Don't let Instacanv.as advertise every uploaded picture automatically. It's my wish to cross check the quality first before advertising. Not every Instagram picture fits to my gallery on Instacanv.as. And if a photo isn't part of your IC gallery, promotion doesn't make sense anyway.
  • Don't let Instanv.as update your gallery automatically after you made a new picture. The reason can be found at point 3: I want to be sure to upload photos which look good on a desktop monitor, too. That's the main way my future customers will see my gallery, too.
  • Getting featured in www.Instacanv.as - maybe Nicsmix is one of the next glad pals?
    Getting featured on Instacanv.as -
which artist doesn't dream of it? Here you see

    www.instacanv.as/nicsmix - my gallery.
  • Push your gallery opening and updates via Facebook, Google+ and Pinterest. Spread your work. Or speak about it. So - that's my hope - more people might find their way to my IC gallery.
Be patient. I'am. Now.

What do I do next? I've got to wait, put new photos online, use clean hash tags, take part at community actions. And I try to be one of the 50 artists Instacanvas promotes every week. A good way to keep yourself up to date: The blogs written bei Instacanvas and Instagram. They can be found on http://blog.instagram.com/ and http://blog.instacanv.as/. While writing this blog post, IC for example offers a link to a very interesting Do's and Don'ts entry.

As soon as my first picture is sold, I'll give you an update - promised! I wonder which of my pics it is.

Cheers, Nico

P.S. You've got additional hints on how to push your Instacanv.as gallery? Or something else what might help me and other IC artists? Give me a hug!

P.P.S. This blog entry was an interesting read? Say "Thank you" via Instacanv.as and think about purchasing your next picture at my gallery www.instacanv.as/nicsmix. Thanks a lot!
